Looking for a Labor Day outing filled with creativity, family activities, and local charm? Marietta Art in the Park returns September 5–7, 2026, celebrating its 40th anniversary at historic Marietta Square.

Find artwork with a personal connection
The Artist Market features painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, woodworking, and more. You can ask artists about their materials, inspiration, and techniques—and some offer demonstrations. About the Artist Market

See craftsmanship up close
Watching an artist work adds another dimension to a festival visit. It’s an opportunity to appreciate the skill behind an object you might otherwise walk past.
Ask questions when the artist is available, and give demonstrations enough time to unfold.

Bring the kids for hands-on activities

Chalk Spot timing: The scheduled chalk-making activity took place Saturday, September 5, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday and Monday visitors may still see the finished artwork, weather permitting, but the activity is not scheduled to repeat. Chalk Spot information
Take a break around the square
Leave room in your visit for lunch and a slower walk around Glover Park. Restaurants around the square offer indoor and patio dining, while the festival lists beverages for sale on site.

Parking and arrival tips
The festival’s parking guidance lists:
- City Hall Parking Deck, 205 Lawrence Street: Free weekend parking.
- Parking decks at 17 Waddell Street NE and 1 Haynes Street: Daily charges apply.
Check posted rates on Labor Day Monday rather than assuming the weekend arrangement applies. Streets around the square close for the festival, so allow extra time to arrive. Official parking guidance
